Shankhassick Farm

Shankhassick Farm is the historical home of the Paine family. It was purchased from the Sawyer family around 1900 by Ralph Delahaye Paine and his wife Katharine Lansing Paine. They moved their family there in 1906.  Katharine had two children from a previous marriage, Tony and Barbara, and subsequently had three more children: Ralph, father of Katie Delahaye Paine, and the twins, Stu and Phil. Katie still lives on the farm today.

There are three main buildings on the property, two are available for long term rentals

  1. The "Big House"  (technically 53 A & B) which is a duplex  Shankhassick cropped'
  2. The Cabin  River side view

  3. The Barn

The first two are available for long term rentals. The Barn is Katie's residence, but is available for vacation and short-term rentals.
