Our Public Relations Measurement Geek of the Week Award goes to Elizabeth Rector, Sr. Manager of Communications Intelligence in the Corp Comm organization at Cisco Systems, Inc. For the past few years she’s been implementing and continuously improving an astonishingly complex, comprehensive and consistent measurement program for the Communications department at Cisco.
The brilliance of her system is that it isn’t just a big broad brushstroke of data on the corporation, but is also detailed and specific enough to be used by virtually every line of business at Cisco, from customer service to consumer products. We make her our Geek of the Week in recognition of the difficulty that anyone in corporate America faces when trying to herd all those cats into one consistent measurement corral. --KDP
“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many… Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders... But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”
