Mostly you'll find recommendations and links to good pieces of research or sources of knowledge that I've found inmy travels. This time I'm writing to warn everyone about some really BAD research reports from Global Industry Analyts.
I made the enormous mistake of buying one of their "reports" for $75 that sounded interesting. It was aledgedly going to tell me about the size and growth prospects for the PR and Advertising research market. First of all they charged my credit card and then didn't deliver the report. After numerous requests, they finally sent me the report I ordered. It was all of one page and told me absolutely nothing. No useful data, no description of methodology, nothing useful whatsoever.
Now at KDPaine & Partners we occasionally disappoint someone with one of our reports and if someone complains, we're happy to refund the money.
Global Industry analysts said this
Once purchased, the publications may not be returned or exchanged for any reason. All sales are final.
Consider yourself warned.

KD,
If the material was misrepresented to you at the point of sale and the merchant refuses to make it right, it's very likely that your credit card company will allow you to dispute the charge. Have you pursued that option?

Let the buyer beware, I suppose. Sorry you wasted $75 on the report. One question: Is the "consider yourself warned" part of GIA's response or is that your comment?
