For a group of people supposed to be dedicated to being real and transparent, it's pretty funny that we're all here in Las Vegas, the ultimate capital of the fake. We're at the Venetian, a pseudo replica of Venice complete with a canal! The other silliness is that all of the speakers are road warriors who appreciate efficiency above all, and we're in a hotel that takes 20 minutes to get from the front door to the meeting rooms. Of course, I'm someone who has never gambled in her life, and who sees casinos as an affront to my senses, so Las Vegas is perhaps my least favorite place on earth -- but that having been said, I find it an incredibly odd place for a social media conference.
